The Sly Hunter

This piece I created in Photoshop, the background is a photograph I took of a small lake in Bancroft, ON and the fox and partridge I drew via tablet. This is done on a tablet that is plugged into the computer and whatever I draw on the tablet with a rubber pen goes onto the screen.

North Hastings Family Health Team Logo

This was a logo I finished over the summer for a local Health Team in Bancroft, ON.
The logo is to emphasize the important of a caring family and community while incorporating health care.

Self Portrait

I just finished this tonight. A full day of drawing, eating, drawing, quick breaking, and more drawing! Finally done and I pleased, but some areas are still bugging me. I may work on some more touch-ups tomorrow, we'll see

Golden Moments

Recently I entered a couple design pieces into The 11th Annual Juried Student Art Show open to all Liberty University Students. I guess they must have liked my design because my poster "hope" (below) won first prize. It is moments like these that make me reflect on my Lord and Saviour who has given this skill to me. God is the ultimate designer worthy of praise, I mean look at the world around us! His creativity and design is simply amazing, as artists we only reproduce work that is inspired by God's creation. Just an update for those who follow.

Supporting Haiti

Recently the poster I donated (titled "hope") to the cause of Doctors Without Borders working in Haiti has been posted for sale on the following site. And to my surprise they have priced my poster at $50 a piece. All proceeds of these posters by myself and designers across the globe are going to help those in Haiti directly. Check them out at:

Prayer Chapel

This is my latest drawing. It is a still life of the Prayer Chapel found on the campus of Liberty University. I really like the traditional appearance of this little chapel as there are not many still around any more. The purpose of this chapel is for students to have a place that will always be quiet so they can get away to pray, read or just get away to think. Hope you like

Prince Caspian

This is a poster I made from the book "Prince Caspian" by C.S. Lewis. We had to read a book and create a movie poster for that book. We had to take all out own photographs or draw the images we used. No internet for this one. So once again a good friends of mine, Brad is in my piece as Prince Caspian himself.

13.4.10

Forgiven

This is a piece that I am very passionate about and I wanted to use abstraction to create bring about a message. The message being Christ has justified and restored what was once condemned, US! He has forgiven you and me or our sins and paid the ultimate price in order to justify us. He has then restored us to a new life in Him that we may live for the purpose in which we were created.

Paint + Skin = Art

These are paintings I did after the neoplasticism style (also known as de stihl). This style is abstract using only shapes, vertical and horizontal lines, black, white, grey's and primary colours. My intentions were to portray the forgiveness of our sins through the death of Christ. The reason for painting on people? Well just wanted to do something that was out of the ordinary and different from everyone in my class. These are a couple of my great friends which endure the hours it takes of lying still as I paint. The bottom image is a representation of a sinner (black) whose heart has been made pure (white) through the blood of Christ (red).
The image above that is a representation of Christ (white=holy and perfect) who was pierced for our transgressions (red=wounds in his hands and side). The towel is for a PG version of what Jesus could have been wearing at the time.
The two images above that is my third idea for this project. This image is a restored heart (white) splattered with the blood of Christ (red) that stands among a sinful world (black and grey).
It was from these ideas that I created the piece "Forgiven"

Dead, Fake or Alive

This is a cd cover I created. We could either do an unknown artist or make up a group, so I thought why not, make up a group would be fun. The idea behind this album is as Christians we have three options, we can be dead, fake or alive. The cutout of a lightbulb shape is an example of a Christian whose faith is dead, non-existent. The 2D lightbulb exemplifies a Christian who's fake, appears to be a lightbulb but gives no light. The final lightbulb is alive it's not only a real lightbulb but it works, it's light shines for all to see. Which one are you?

Beyond The Pulpit

This was a book I designed. I took the photographs of both covers and the mock-author. We were required to create a book and interview a professor as the mock-author. Hope you like.

Bierworth Mack's

This is the logo I designed for a hometown softball team. They won the Ontario finals last year and were looking to come out sharp again this year. The top logo is for the jersey's and the bottom logo is for the hats and promotional gear. The local sponsor's Bierworth Readi-Mix which is one of the local cement companies hence the mixer in the logo.

Traits

This was a project in which we had to take a photograph of someone we knew really well and alter the same image to show four different character traits of that person. This is my girlfriend, Kyla, the most amazing person in the world!

Hope

Many of you are aware of the tragic earthquake that took place over in Haiti. This is a time where nations came together in order to help out one that was struggling. Many people were becoming creative in ways to help support Haiti because not everyone can go over to help out physically. As for me this was my little way of helping out a nation that was struggling. A group of graphic designers decided to create way of raising $1 000 000 for doctors without borders (DWB) to help them reach out to Haiti. Designers from all over America created posters and sent in 12-15 copies in order to sell and donate all proceeds to DWB. As for me I decided to get involved and create my poster for the cause. I created this one to emphasize hope. I printed 12 posters and sent them in to be sold, we all have a small role to play, help however you can.

17.2.10

The Motions

This is a song that you gotta listen to! This is a song written Matthew West. I have taken the course and created a typographic poster to remind myself of these important words, not just so I can nod my head in agreement but that I may live them out. I used strictly helvetica (except for "life") because it is the greatest typeface ever created!

10.2.10

Please Wait To Be Seated

This was a menu I had to design for class. We had to create a menu for a non-existent restaurant in which we had to make up. I called mine the Black Stallion as I was going for the family steakhouse.

AIGA 1

This semester I took on the position of Communication's Director for the Graphic Design group on campus which is apart of a nations largest group of graphic designers. So I guess you may be seeing a lot of these posters. Hopefully each one improves.

23.1.10

Flatline

This was the t-shirt design I created for our hall this year. Our hall theme is flatline. The idea is that we are to hold each other accountable not to flatline spiritually, academically, physically and socially.

21.1.10

Bell's Soap

This was a project in which we had to create an ad for a client (Bell's Soap). We had a fake client come into class for the week and explain where he was wanting to go with his product and provided us with his logo. This is what I came up with to appeal to both males and females.
